CommonBond lowers the cost of higher education in the U.S. The platform connects student and graduate borrowers with individual and institutional investors to save borrowers money on their student loans and allow investors to earn a financial return.
The company launched at Wharton in 2012, and on the heels of raising over $100 million expanded to 25 MBA programs in 2013. In 2014, the company is expanding into Law, Medical and Engineering graduate programs.
CommonBond has funded millions of dollars of student loans so far, and plans to fund or refinance as much as $100 million of student debt by the end of 2014.
Our mission is to make education more accessible.
First, through our core competency. We lower the cost of financing higher education in the U.S. By lowering the cost threshold, we make the higher degree more attainable.
Second, through our Social Promise. For every degree fully funded on the CommonBond platform, the company funds the education of a student in need abroad for a full year.
